Cadillac Ranch Photos from Amarillo Texas

The Cadillac Ranch is not a ranch but a public art installation and sculpture in Amarillo, Texas out in an open field off 40. It was created in 1974 by Chip Lord, Hudson Marquez and Doug Michels.

As part of our travels, we found ourself in Amarillo Texas right down the street from the Cadillac Ranch so i had to go over and take a few shots.

The Cadillac Ranch cars are covered with years and years of layers of different paint as many people bring spray cars and leave their mark in bright colors. It looks like many of them also leave the spray cans just tossing them on the ground as we could see lots of spray cans all over the ground around the area.

For my photos of the Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo TX I used the Nikon D500 and the new Tamron 10-24 lens this lens has now become one of my favorite lenses to use it produces very sharp images and great colors and I just love the wide view it gives me.
