SmallRig iPhone 17 Pro Max Phone Case
We look at the SmallRig iPhone 17 Pro Max Cell Phone Case.
I had pre-ordered this case as soon as I saw it listed as we waited for our iPhone 17 Pro Max to come in. The main reason we wanted this case is because it has the different change out plates that allows you to hook third-party cell phone lenses to it. It comes with two separate plates, one for 17 millimeter threaded lenses and one for bayonet type threaded lenses. So you can use any brand of cell phone lenses for your cell phone and mount it onto the case.
Even though I pre-ordered it and it had a set shipping date, it did not ship on the set shipping date. It was late coming in.
I also ordered the filter attachment so you can attach ND filters, polarizers and so on. That has still not shipped and we still have not received it. So I was not able to test that. It’s supposed to be a 67 millimeter mount that holds filters on magnetically. I even pre-ordered an extra adapter to screw on to my 67 millimeter ND filters that converts it from a screw-on to a magnetic hoping that that will fit into this filter attachment but I’m still waiting for it.
I’ve been using this case every day for my main use case for my cell phone and I have the 17 millimeter attachments on for 17 millimeter lenses that I have and it’s been working great. It also has a kickstand in the back so you can stand it upright or sideways.

SmallRig has more than just this cell phone case for the iPhone 17 Pro Max. They also have a complete cage system that apparently the cell phone in their case that I have here fits right into the cage system and you can add handles on to each side. I would like to order that as well, but I do not see a way to order just the cage without the case that I already have. Hoping that will be available soon. Me and my wife both have an iPhone 17 Pro Max. I have a blue one. She waited a little bit longer and got the orange one. So we could definitely use two cages. I've started using her cell phone now in some videos as an overhead camera on my desk shooting down using the Blackmagic camera app and setting it up for remote control I could view the camera and the angle on my iPad and change the settings and start and stop recording I plan on making a video showing how to set that up as well it works quite well as long as you're on the same Wi-Fi network
